2023 Testimony and Hearings

This page links to information regarding 2023 legislation to potentially correct Governor Lee’s detrimental 3rd and 4th grade retention law that was hastily passed by the Tennessee House and Senate during a 3-day special legislative session on COVID. This took place while the public was banned from the meetings and without considering any input from parents or teachers.

While the legislature is bending over backward to hear testimony from educators this time, they continue to indicate that they are not really listening and that changes are likely to be superficial, at best.
